Ugh, this is a tough one!
I was lucky to go to a great state school (UMD), where I spent two years in an advanced humanities program where they taught us to navigate a wide range of discourses (sociological, race, gender, ethnic, all of it).I don’t directly use any of that today as a B2B marketer (I kind of sold out), but even today I can spot a person with a liberal arts education a mile away here in the business world.
I’m not saying college is a must (I defo consider my marketing degree a total waste of time and $), but I do believe there is something to be said for spending your impressionable youth learning about the world in abstract and academic term. Just my .02!
