Oh give me a break.

Nazis can say and think whatever the hell they want and I support their right to not get arrested for it — that’s 100% their constitutional right. I’m all for it.

That right does not extend to private businesses, certainly not ones with terms and conditions that prohibit hate speech. They don’t have a right to private services or online platforms or ad money or sponsorships.

What you’re doing is turning this around on me, as if I’m intolerant of speech I don’t agree with. Please be assured that this is not the case. I am very tolerant of both free speech and an advocate of exercising your right to choose who you support and enable as a business — also a form of free speech.

Finally, you are the second white man to comment on this post concerned more about free speech than how hate speech affects minorities and women. You are in good company in Silicon Valley, most of whom agree with you. Please remember that your point of view benefits you, but not not me. It creates a hostile environment for me and my family, who happen to not be white.

This year I advised my cousin moving to America for the first time to reconsider his move because his skin color and obvious immigrant status could make him a target in the small, Midwestern town he would be living in.

Don’t mansplain me about tyranny. My people live it.
